We are excited to share that the MovingWorlds Institute is once again open for applications. This Global Fellowship program empowers you to make a positive impact with your career — whether you’re staying in your job or looking for a new one.
So what is the Fellowship program like? Check out this story from Winter 2017 alumni, Heather, to learn more about her experience in the Institute.
Expanding the Institute in 2018
In 2018, we have big plans for the Institute, including expanding our partnership network, onboarding more speakers, and adding new kickoff locations to the make the program accessible to more people around the globe. Here are 3 exciting updates:
1. More kickoff cities in more places
The MWI is intentionally flexible to allow participation from anywhere in the world. However, to make it more accessible, we’re adding new locations for our in-person kickoff and training weekends. See the program page for the dates of our new San Francisco, Amsterdam, and Washington, D.C. cohort kickoff weekends, and watch this short video to see what our kickoff and training weeks are like.
2. Expanded partnerships and speaker network
Our partnerships, with inspiring organizations like the empowering people.Network, Promotora Social, Agora, and MANY MORE, enables us to help all our Fellows find high-impact, goal-aligned projects. We’re also thrilled about the increasing size of our speaker and mentor network, who help deliver leading insights and best practices in all-things Impact.
3. A full year of programming and rolling application deadlines
We’ll have cohorts kicking off in Winter, Spring, and Fall, and while the application period for the first Winter Cohort kicking off in San Francisco closes on October 31, you can also apply now for our Europe Cohort which kicks off in May, or our second America’s Cohort, which will kickoff in September. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so get yours in!
Making a Bigger Impact
Fast Company, Next Billion, Devex, and more have already featured the MWI for its innovative approach to experiential learning for skilled professionals, but one missing story that we want to tell is the IMPACT that our Fellows are making.
Indeed, the chance to actually go Experteering as part of your learning and networking Fellowship is what makes the MWI so unique: You’re not just learning leading concepts in social enterprise, design thinking, and shared-value — you are actually helping innovative organizations accelerate their impact. Returning to Heather’s story featured above, here is another video sharing more about the impact she made.
In addition to Heather’s inspiring work, we’ll be featuring stories on our blog about other Fellows, like this from Fernanda, who used her Institute experience to find an impact experience — and now career — in the underserved education sector. We hope you’ll follow along for more updates about impact as we publish them.
